Greta Thanberg, a Swedish teenager who has become a symbol of the climate movement, has been awarded the Gulbenkian Prize in Portugal.
Received 1 million euros (9 crore 70 lakh) worth of money, which is her biggest prize. But she is donating this huge amount of money for the welfare of the people without keeping it for himself.
She said the prize money is more than she can “begin to imagine,” and that she hopes it will help her “do more good in the world.”
The entire amount of the award will be donated through my foundation to various organizations and projects that are working to help people affected by the climate crisis and environmental crisis.
Jorge Sampany, head of the jury committee on the Gulbenkian Prize, said the award was given to Greta for her strong fight against climate change and the way she has mobilized the younger generation. Guardian
